This was shown in Julia C. Carroll's book "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202" on page 228 and from 1962.
It was also featured in a Town and Country "Jewels by Trifari" magazine advertisement (the one the model is wearing in the ad) when it was a new item.
The ad describes the necklace as a "richly tasseled sautoir, an exciting daytime fashion... from Trifari's long-look collection."
The Crown Trifari necklace consists of luminous, powder blue (or a pale aqua blue) oval beads with goldtone, twisted bumpy textured bead sections.
The tassel (dangle portion) has a gold tone elongated cap, with a circle of 8 sets slender blue beads with textured, bumpy goldtone balls at the end.
The necklace is about 22 inches long and has a fold over clasp.
The dangle hangs down about 3 inches longer.
The powder blue beads are Lucite so it is rather light weight and would be comfortable to wear.
The fold-over clasp is marked "Trifari" with a crown over the T.
Very pretty, vintage necklace with some normal wear from use.
*Please check to make sure the beads... are very secure and then have the pieces of vintage jewelry gently cleaned by a jeweler or collector who understands vintage jewelry.
*All items are "as is" and there are no returns so please read the descriptions and see the photos before you buy.
